2020 was a year that most people would say "sucked" but looking at the brighter side of things, it was transformative for me. I officially became self-employed & started my business “BraidedByFlo LLC" in February. I then started an intentional spiritual journey with God two months later in April. Fast forward to the summer months of June & July, God planted this haircare business in my mind but I didn’t have a name for it so I wrote down the idea and left it alone.

In September 2021, I got baptized and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. When I tell you the Spirit comes through! #godsplan I was watching a sermon series on youtube that spoke on how powerful one's imagination is & how it can either enhance or hinder their life. I went back to the drawing board and wrote down everything I imagined for this business and my future. From being on the shelves at major beauty stores to taking back our communities and lifting up our culture. I kept pondering on the name... the Holy Spirit whispered, "It's right in front of you". The word "Anointed" was looking at me. I second guessed it at first but then I kept saying it over and over again. I wanted a name that was big enough to expand into serveral areas of beauty when directed. Anointed Beauty!

My personal experience with embracing my natural hair led me to understand just how impressive handmade, organic & unrefined hair remedies can make my hair/scalp feel and behave. After learning about the powerful practice of Ayurveda and giving much thanks to my Haitian mother, who taught me about homegrown plants and herbs with natural healing properties for my hair and scalp, I finally found relief.
